Biography
Dr Gonzalez earned a PhD in Molecular Biology from University of Wales Swansea in 2007. An Associate Professor position within the Reproductive Biology and Gynaecological Oncology group, Swansea University, Dr Gonzalez’s research focuses on investigating the underlying causes of female infertility and gynaecological cancers. Dr Gonzalez's research interests also include the development of targeted therapies, drug repositioning, and development of molecular methods for disease diagnosis. Her aim is to translate research findings into clinical relevant observations for patient benefit. She has published numerous peer-reviewed articles and reviews, and acts as editorial member and reviewer for several journals
Research Interest
Her interested in female infertility included the study of Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), a common reproductive endocrine disorder that affects 5-10% of premenopausal women. PCOS features include hyperandrogenism, chronic anovulation, infertility, impaired glucose tolerance, hyperinsulinaemia and insulin resistance, which increases the risk of diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular disease
Biography
Dr. Jun Sun is a tenured Associate Professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) and a Professor in Jesse Brown VA Medical Center, Chicago, U.S.A.. She is a fellow of American Gastroenterological Associate. Her research interests are host-microbiome interactions in inflammation and cancer. Her key achievements include 1) characterization of vitamin D receptor regulation of gut microbiome in intestinal homeostasis and inflammation, 2) identification of bacteria in regulating intestinal stem cells, and 3) identification and characterization of the Salmonella effector protein AvrA in host-bacterial interactions. Dr. Sun has published over 120 scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals, including Cell Stem Cells, Nature Genetics, Gut, JBC, American Journal of Pathology, American Journal of Physiology-GI. She is in the editorial board of more than 10 peer-reviewed international scientific journals. She services study sections for the NIH, American Cancer Society, and other national and international research foundations. Her research is supported by the NIH, DOD, and a few other research awards.

Biography
Prof. Jordi Salas Salvadó has completed his PhD in 1985 from Universitat de Barcelona. He is the director of Human Nutrition Unit Research and Professor of Nutrition and Bromatology at Universitat Rovira i Virgili and Head of the Clinical Nutrition Unit in Sant Joan University Hospital in Reus. He has published more than 389 papers in reputed journals (SCI), has been citated more than 9000 times and has a H Factor of 44. He has been the Principal Investigator in so many research projects and has directed 19 Doctoral Theses, all of them obtined the maximum calification.
