Dr. Vincenzo Costigliola has more than 40 years of medical practice after graduating in Medicine at the University of Naples (Italy), and a post-degree specialization in Anesthesiology and Intensive Care from the Università di Pisa (Italy). He is a Founder & President of European Medical Association (Belgium). He has also co-founded the European Association for Preventive, Predictive and Personalized Medicine, and is current President (Belgium). He was formerly the Chief of Medical Services in the Italian Navy. Later on he obtained his Master Science Degree from University of Aguascalientes, México, and thereafter a PhD in Pharmacology, Universidad de Guadalajara, México. Dominico Merante joined DSD in March 2007 as Senior Director of Clinical Development at the newly opened R&D office in Gerrards Cross, United Kingdom. Arie Franx holds an MD-degree of the Free University in Amsterdam and a PhD-degree of the University of Utrecht. He specialized in obstetrics/ gynaecology and attended leadership programs at INSEAD (Fontainebleau, France) and at Harvard Business School and Harvard School of Public Health (Boston, MA, USA). He is currently Professor of Obstetrics, Chair of the Division Woman and Baby en Director of the Ob/Gyn Specialty Training in the University Medical Centre Utrecht. His research interest include pregnancy complications, cardiovascular health in women, and organization and quality of care. Dr El Habachi is a Professor in the Department of Physiology and the Academic Director of the Alexandria Clinical Research Centre in the Faculty of Medicine, Alexandria University, Egypt. She is a multilingual Professor with a track record of establishing multinational partnerships, and teaches in both English and French. She has been pivotal in establishing the University Clinical Research Centre. Part of her pre-doctoral training was conducted in the Heart Science Centre, Imperial College, UK. Dr. Kang Choon Lee is Haengdan Distinguished Professor at the SungKyunKwan University (SKKU), Korea, and was director of the Center of Excellence for Future Pharmaceutical Education and Research in the College of Pharmacy at SKKU. He served as a professor and dean at the College of Pharmacy as well as the director of the Institute of Pharmaceutical Science. Prior to joining SKKU in 1992, Dr. Lee was a principal scientist at Dong-A Pharmaceutical Co. for ten years before joining Chonnam National University as a professor of pharmacy. For over 30 years, Dr. Lee’s Drug Targeting Laboratory has been focused on immuno-targeting including immunotoxins, preformulation and bioconjugation of peptide and protein drugs. Dr. Lee is internationally recognized as one of the leading experts in site-specific peptide/protein PEGylation and firstly demonstrated the therapeutic potential of novel site-specific PEGylated drugs such as GLP-1 and TRAIL. He has published over 150 papers in peer-reviewed journals and served as an invited speaker at many international conferences. Dr. Lee is an inventor on more than 20 patents related to specific bioconjugation and modification of peptide/protein drugs. He served as president of the Korean-American Pharmaceutical Scientists Association and vice-president of the Pharmaceutical Society of Korea and Korean Society of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology. Dr. Lee is a recipient of the Distinguished Pharmaceutical Scientist Award from the Pharmaceutical Society of Korea in 2002 and honored as a Fellow of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) in 2003. He currently serves on the editorial advisory board of many international scientific journals including Pharmaceutical Research, Pharmaceutical Development and Technology, PharmSciTech and Journal of Drug Delivery. In 2012, he founded B&L DeliPharm Inc. Korea, a pharmaceutical company focused on clinically translating and commercializing site-specific engineered peptide/protein drugs developed by his laboratory and also he co-founded and serves as a Board Member of Theraly Pharmaceuticals, USA.
